The Hamazkaine Armenian Sydney Dance Ensemble (ASDC) was established in July 2000 through the
unification of the Sasoon Dance Group of the Hamazkaine Shant Chapter and the Nairi Dance Group of the
Hamazkaine Ararat and Nairi Chapter.

United by a shared passion for Armenian culture, enthusiastic young dancers came together to preserve and
celebrate the traditions of their ancestors through music and dance.

For over 25 years, ASDC has proudly brought generations of dancers together, welcoming children from as
young as four years of age. Through weekly classes, annual concerts, cultural festivals and community performances, our dancers showcase their dedication, talent and pride in their Armenian heritage. At the heart of
ASDC is a strong commitment to preserving traditional Armenian music and dance while fostering confidence, discipline, teamwork and a sense of belonging among our young dancers.

We strive to provide a positive and welcoming environment where friendships flourish and future generations
remain connected to their cultural roots. Our continued success is made possible through the dedication of our instructors, choreographers, volunteers, families and generous sponsors. Their ongoing support allows us to
provide affordable dance classes, beautiful traditional costumes and high-quality performances, while
strengthening the Armenian community across Sydney.

Having proudly celebrated our 25th anniversary in 2025, ASDC continues to honour its rich history while looking towards the future. We remain dedicated to preserving our cultural heritage, celebrating our achievements
and inspiring future generations to carry Armenian traditions forward.

Our Culture. Our People. Our Dance.
